From a professional standpoint, as a young aspiring entrepreneur and investor, the Bootcamp gave me the opportunity to look deeper within myself and draw from a reserve of confidence that even I was not sure was there. The environment of achievement and friendly rivalry allowed delegates to critically identify their strengths and weaknesses while innovating rapidly, learning about new cultures, and managing people, time and limited resources.

The Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp 2018 was a life changing experience for me both professionally and personally. Hailing from the Twin Island Paradise of Trinidad and Tobago in the West Indies, being selected to attend such a prestigious event was nothing short of an honor. Upon my selection, I immediately started various fundraising projects, from a local Barbeque to Sponsorship Applications to a range of private and public-sector institutions. With less than a month to go, I had finally raised enough money to cover my expenses and the Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp had become a reality.

A well-organized schedule of some of the world’s most inspiring Entrepreneurs from many different walks of life allowed delegates such as myself to better understand that no matter what the circumstances, an Entrepreneur must be resilient, and can only be successful by overcoming any adversities that come his way.

From a personal standpoint, with this trip marking my first time in Asia, the unique culture of Eastern countries such as Thailand and Nepal have opened my eyes and left me with a new perspective on life. The strong respect for religion and spiritual practices, the preservation of Historical and Natural Attractions and the various world-class tourist attractions across South East Asia has guaranteed that this will not be my last trip.

The GEB team ensured all of our needs before the Bootcamp were met and upon arrival had a ram-packed schedule of developmental activities and mentors from various walks of Entrepreneurial life.

While it’s easy to see successful people and never really know how they’ve acquired their success, working, living and having fun with these prolific entrepreneurs has allowed us to realize that above all else, “Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts” – Winston Churchill.

GEB provides the resources for entrepreneurs to create long lasting relationships with any of the mentors and other delegates. While at the Bootcamp, various mentors and delegates were able to share their experiences of successes and more importantly, failures and lessons, which proved extremely valuable in helping craft our business models and stay away from common pitfalls that they may have already encountered. Using these experiences to not only develop ourselves as individuals but to create offerings without repeating mistakes, or adapting elements of our offerings to account for cultural differences across regions and hemispheres.
